How to use Asian handicaps in arbs

Asian handicaps are very popular among players in sports betting, as they allow you to equalize the odds of the favorite and the outsider. If the leader is given a coefficient of 1.14, it is extremely unprofitable to take it: the gain will be scanty, and at a distance you can go into a significant minus. With the help of handicaps, you can "raise" the quotes to 1.9 and higher and take the favorite or underdog at an acceptable coefficient. In addition, in some handicaps, there is an option to return the bet if the match was unsuccessful, this helps to insure a number of outcomes that do not suit us.

Despite the fact that ordinary bettors often take Asian handicaps, novice surebettors are afraid to flirt with them. Especially fractional ones, since you can easily confuse something. Today we will tell you how to use handicaps, what is their advantage and give you other useful information.

What is the asian handicap?

First, consider what the asian handicap is, to refresh your memory or maybe someone else doesn't know about them. Handicap means that we have a preliminary advantage of one of the teams, for example, 0 goals, 1 goal, 1.5 goals, and so on. Handicaps are globally divided into positive and negative, and there is also a zero one. In addition, handicaps can be whole, half, quarter.

Zero handicaps

This is a handicap of 0. It can't be negative or positive. In fact, it can be considered as an insurance against a draw, since in the case of a peaceful outcome, the bookmaker will return the bet.

Positive odds

It means that we give a certain team an advantage of 0.5 or more goals. In the bookmkers line, it looks like +0.5, +1, +2.5, and so on. For example, if one of the football teams is given a handicap of + 1.5, it means that it starts the match conditionally with a score of 1.5:0 in its favor. It is enough for her not to lose with a difference of two or more balls to pass the handicap, that is, we are satisfied even with a defeat of 1: 0, since taking into account the advantage, the score will be 1.5:1.

Negative odds

In fact, the same thing as a positive handicap, only we already give a negative advantage to one of the teams . Let's say that at -1.5 the team starts with the score – 1.5:0. For our bet to go, the selected team must win the match with a difference of at least 2 goals. For example, 2:0 suits us, but 2:1 does not.

Solid handicaps

Integral odds are expressed as integers. For example, +1, +2, -1, and so on. Their main feature is the ability to return the bet on certain match layouts. Let's say we issued a coupon with +1 for an underdog. For our bet to play, the team must draw or win. If she lost with a difference of 1 ball, the bookmaker will return the bet with a coefficient of 1.0, since the final score is conditionally tied. We lose if the outsider loses with a difference of 2 or more goals.

If we take -1 on the favorite, he must win with a difference of at least 2 goals. If we win exactly one ball, we will get a refund of the bet.

Half-hearted handicaps

They are written as +0.5, +1.5, -0.5, and so on. If you take + 0.5 for one of the teams, it should not lose at least, that is, we are satisfied with the victory and draw of the selected team. Any loss means that the bet is also lost. If we take-0.5, our team must win for the bet to pass, a draw and a loss do not suit us.

Quarters handicaps

The most difficult to understand, so they are often ignored, especially by surebettors. They are written as +0.25, +0.75, – 1.75, and so on. In this case, the bet is divided into two parts. For example, 0.25 is 0 and 0.5, and 0.75 is 0.5 and 1. Half of the money will go to one part, half to the other.

Consider an example. We took a bet of +1.25 (+1, +1.5) with a coefficient of 2.0 and allocated 100 euro for it. So our bet will be divided into two parts:

50 euro for +1;
50 euro for 1.5.
If our team does not lose, that is, at least a draw, we get a win on both shoulders, and this is 200 euro. Let's say the outsider lost with a difference of 1 ball, in this case the bet on +1 will return (50 euro), the second one on +1.5 will play (50 * 2.0 = 100), in the end we earned 150 euro. If the team concedes with a difference of 2 or more goals, we lose everything.

In what outcomes is the handicap used?

Obviously, the handicap is mainly based on the main outcomes: that is, who will win, taking into account the handicap. And this option is available in all sports, be it football or chess. However, you can also see a head start on statistical indicators, for example, on yellow cards, corners, fouls, and so on. It all depends on the sport. In tennis, there is a handicap on sets, games, points scored, errors in serving, and so on. In basketball, you have a head start on rebounds, free throws, and so on.

How to find a surebet with an Asian handicap

Back to the surebets. To find a surebet with an Asian handicap, you do not need to resort to any tricks, all this is done in ordinary scanners. That is, you need to choose a suitable service, register in it, pay for a subscription and start using it. Important clarification: the scanner must support the search for the Asian handicap, find out this in advance. From the well-known scanners that support Asian handicaps:

Then just set up the filters in the scanner and start placing bets according to the recommendations.

Two-way arbs for handicaps

This is the simplest and most obvious option for making a bet. Two opposite odds are taken, for example, +1.5 and – 1.5 and are issued in two BC. There is no return option here, so in any case, one of the shoulders will play. Nothing complicated or special, we play the same way as in other markets: we quickly make bets, double-check the coefficients, avoid arbs with a yield of more than 10%.

Three-way arbs for handicaps

Due to the extensive variation of handicaps, there are a huge number of surebets between them. Important clarification: here, not pure handicaps are used, but other markets are added. Let's consider a few cases:

  • The handicap of the first team is 0.5, the handicap of the second team is also -0.5 and a draw.
  • The handicap of the first is +0.5, the handicap of the second is -1.5 and the victory of the second is exactly one ball.
  • Handicap of the first-0.5, draw, win of the second.

There can be many combinations. Not all scanners support them, and it can take quite a long time to issue coupons, so we recommend using them only if you have a lot of experience. Plus tools for automating bids. In other cases, it is more convenient and faster to take the obvious two-way arbs.

What sports are best to use for betting

We have already figured out that in all sports there is a handicap, and not only on the main outcomes, but also on additional ones. What are the best disciplines to take? Obviously, we put football first. It is popular, just for understanding, not as dynamic as tennis or basketball, so it is the easiest to play. Take wins with a handicap of both teams, or statistical indicators. There are a lot of football matches, there will definitely be no shortage of surebets, and thanks to an extensive line of bookmakers, in the markets, too.

In second place, we can safely put tennis — it is the second most popular sport after football. There are even more matches on it. Here you can take handicaps on sets, games, depending on the experience. The game is dynamic, so try at first to play the outcomes for the whole match before it starts or during a pause.

We put basketball in third place. There is plenty of space for fans of Asian handicap: wins in the match, in the quarters, in the first half, in a certain segment of the game. And also a bunch of statistics: rebounds, shots, penalties, and the like. Thanks to this, even in one match, you can find a large number of various arbs.

We put hockey in the fourth place. Here there are handicaps for the entire match and for periods, for free time and throws. There are fewer options than for tennis or basketball, but you can flirt.

Then we put American sports: baseball, soccer, American football. They go at night, so they are not particularly popular with players. But you can flirt when the rest of the disciplines are all deaf.

Less popular sports can also be used, but they account for fewer bets of ordinary players, so it is easier for bookmakers to calculatesurebets. Bet them carefully.

What tournaments and competitions should I take

The rule that applies to all sports is to take only notable competitions. You should not play in exotic leagues and tournaments that are not interesting to fans. Let's take the example of football. The World Championships, European Championships, and the Olympics traditionally attract a lot of spectators and betting companies, so it is mandatory to play at them. We also take popular tournaments: the Champions League and Europe, the League of Nations, the Confederations Cup, and so on. And popular championships: Premier League, Primera, Ligue 1, Serie A, RPL, Eredivisie and others.

Little-known championships and small tournaments should be avoided if possible — bookmakers will quickly find you and impose sanctions. Exotic competitions have a small amount of bets, and if you suddenly start betting on them, you will attract the wrong attention.

Live or Prematch

Any surebettor will say that it is better to bet in Live. First, more bets, second, less risk of getting caught by the bookmaker, and third, you can catch a high-yield arb. At the same time, you need to understand that playing live requires experience and skill, otherwise you may not have time to close one of the shoulders.

If you are just starting to bet on arbs, put it first in the prematch, it is safer and easier. Of course, the income will decrease, but you will gain experience. This is especially true for handicaps, they are a priori more difficult to understand, so you should not immediately dive into Live with your head.

The second step will be live, but even here you should take less risky options: for example, take a head start during breaks of games, during pauses and timeouts. Tennis and basketball are so dynamic that without a lot of experience, you can easily get burned.

As soon as you get the appropriate experience, you can completely go live and flirt even with odds that "live" for just a few seconds. Thanks to the skill and additional features of some scanners, this time should be enough for issuing coupons.

Tips how to properly bet on arbs with Asian handicap

Let's give some useful tips:

  • First, make a positive head start, and only then the shoulder with a negative head start. The fact is that for a positive handicap, the coefficient decreases over time, and for a negative one it increases.
  • If possible, choose not dangerous moments in the game. For example, if one of the football teams is actively attacking and is in someone else's penalty area, this is not the best option. The bookmaker can close the acceptance of bets, and you did not have time to close the shoulder, or a goal will take place. In general, it is advisable to use such pauses as outs, timeouts, and so on.
  • Do not take several handicaps on the same match, it is very suspicious, and the bookmaker will be able to easily calculate you. Handicap is such a market that you can use a lot of arbs during the match, you can't use all of them. Preferably only one, only sometimes two.
  • You took a head start, and then there was a goal? If this is just the beginning of the match, it makes sense to wait: the opponent can score a return goal, then you can level your shoulder. This does not apply to the endings of matches.

This advice follows from the previous point: do not take the endings of matches. The bookmaker can stop accepting bets at the most inopportune moment for you, and the kef will jump like crazy on the odds.
Finally, training and experience are the most important things. Regularly making bets, you fill your hand and will already be able to earn good money.
