121What is a value bet?
A value bet is a betting strategy of betting on outcomes undervalued by bookmakers. And if the bookmaker has underestimated them, the odds are higher than corresponds to the probability. With value bets, the player gains an advantage over bookmakers in the long term, even taking losses into account.
How can you find value bets?
- Independently. This applies especially to those players who know well what they are betting on, keep their finger on the pulse and know what is happening with their favourite team almost better than the coach. If one has carefully analysed the lines and odds offered by bookmakers, such a specialist can find value bets. In fact, bookmaker analysts also sometimes make mistakes when they are trapped by clichés.
- With services that scan for value bets. Their advantage is that they process a large amount of data from different bookmakers. First, an average odds value is derived as the arithmetic mean of all proposed odds, and then this value is compared with each bookmaker's odds. The value that is higher than the average value will be the desired value bet.
- Look more closely at the surebets. One of their surebets is exactly the value bet. The presence of value is the key to the emergence of a surebet.
