The Matched Betting is a sports betting strategy in which the player uses bookmakers' bonuses and promotions to guarantee a profit regardless of the outcome of the event. This approach involves using free bets offered by bookmakers to new or existing customers, as well as insuring bets.
The principle of Matched Betting is that the player places two bets on the same event:
- Back Bet: A bet is placed with a traditional bookmaker on a specific outcome of the event.
- Lay Bet: A bet is placed on a betting exchange, where the player "covers" their initial bet by betting against the same outcome.
Consequently, regardless of the outcome of the event, one of the bets wins and the other loses, and thanks to the bonuses or free bets, the player ends up making a profit.
